UNESPECTED BIT JAMMING
- Be steady when you are working, stay always alert and watch what you are
OF THE CORE BIT doing.
DURING DRILLING
- Always expect jamming of the core bit during drilling.
- Warning : Always be ready and quick to switch off the motor when the core bit jams during drilling.
- Remember that the unit is equipped with a mechanical clutch, working in case of
unexpected jamming, but a very quick action in switching off is necessary too.
The situation of jamming, infact, creates a big overload for all the parts of the machine.
- After jamming remove the core bit from the hole, by hand, turning it with a wrench that engages itself
on the hexagonal connection of the core bit (with the motor turned off).
- If you cannot do it, use a chain wrench that encloses the core bit. Be careful not to damage its shell.
- Warning : Do not turn "ON" and "OFF" the switch, attempting to start a jamed core bit.
This action can cause damages to the clutch system and to the motor of the unit and dangerous twisting
actions on the stand.

BREAKAWAY OF THE SEGMENTS
- When diamond segments, slivers of steel or parts of your drilling material come away, during drilling,
and prevent the core bit from drilling, abandon the hole and make another hole, with the same axis of
the first one ("over-drilling"), but with an higher diameter (the first hole's di 15/20 mm).
...........................................................................................................................................................................…….………………........................
THE END OF THE DRILLING
- When you have made the hole you want to drill (a blind or a through hole)
stop the motor but don't stop the water output.
Lift the core bit with the hand wheel until it goes out of the just drilled hole.
Then stop the water output.
- Warning : Don't stop the cooling water flow before pulling the bit out of the hole.

HOW TO PULL OUT THE CORE
- If you have just made an horizontal through hole, the core stays into the diamond core bit.
- Unscrew the core bit out of the bit spindle with its special wrenches, hold the bit vertically and beat
lightly its steel with a wood hammer helve until the core goes out.
- Never beat with violence the core bit against a wall or with tools like hammers or wrenches. So you
can avoid shell's distortions : they prevent core's going out and bit's reusability.
- If the core is stuck into the bit, try to crush it with a chisel. Be careful not to damage the core bit.
- If you have just made a vertical through hole, the core usually goes out of the hole by oneself and fall
headlong from the other side of the floor.
- If the core, falling out of the hole, can cause damages to something or somebody, make the
correct supporting framework to hold the core when you stop drilling.
- If the core stays into the bit, close with a wood board your completed hole. So you can avoid that
the core falls into it. Then do as above mentioned.
- If you have just made a blind hole, either horizontal or vertical, the core stays in the hole.
- Using a wedge or a lever, snap the core, then pull it out of the hole.
To extract the core out of the hole use the special pliers or make a little hole into the top of the core and
put into it an eyebolt to pull up and remove the core.
............................................................................................................................................................................................…………………….......
Warning : You have to start drilling very slowly because the bit attacks the drilling material only
with a little part of its cutting surface, even with only one of its diamond segments.
Start making the hole slowly, so you can avoid misalignment of the core bit.
.......................................................................................................................................................................................…………………….............
EXTENSIONS FOR CORE BIT
- If your drilling is deeper than the height of the core bit :
- make the hole for the full depth of the bit,
- take up the bit, remove it from the power unit and pull out the core from the hole without removing
all the equipment,
- put again the bit into the hole,
- set the extension between the bit and the power unit and screw it.
-
Be careful to put washers if the bit connection is 1" 1/4 UNC.

6 - SERVICING
....................................................................................................................................................................................……………………................
CLEANING
- Clean all the equipment after every drilling to avoid slurry drying and jamming the machine’s moving
parts.
- Always keep your power unit clean and dry.
- When not in use the power unit should be stored in a dry locked-up place, out of reach of children.
.........................................................................................................................…………….......
LUBRICATION
- Always lubricate the screw threads of the bit spindle, of the core bit, of the connections and the
extensions.
- The gears are lubricated with oil that is right for any ambient temperature.
No level control or oil addition is necessary.
................................................................................................................……………................
INSPECTION AND CHECKOVER
- Switch off the machine and disconnect the quick release connectors from the power supply before
making any adjustment or fitting new attachments or accessories.
- Inspect motor and piping periodically and, if damaged, make them repaired only by an authorized
Service Centre.
- Do not use the core drilling motor if there are any parts damaged or defected. In these cases the
damaged parts must be replaced only by an authorized Service Centre.
