SECURING BY A VACUUM PLATE
- Warning : If you drill a wall or if you work far from the ground (drilling
(VACUUM PUMP)
ceiling), you have to strengthen this fixing system, using props. So you can avoid that, if there is
an anomalous vacuum production, all the equipment falls out.
- Warning : This fixing system is not recommended for diameters > 250 mm.
Proceed as follows :
- Set in the appropriate groove on the base ( the hole used to fasten the stand by an anchor bolt)
the kit attachment for vacuum pump connection (a cover complete with rubber seal, pipe fitting and
vacuometer) and tighten its screws.
- Then fit the rubber vacuum gasket in the slot under the base, and unloose the four levelling screws
until they are not extended beyond the base.
- Connect the vacuum pump flexible pipe to the pipe fitting on the base.
- Turn off the cock on the vacuum cover and switch on the pump.
- Settle the rig where you want to drill, turn on the cock and drive forward the base until it grips the
bearing surface.
- Check then the depression value. You can start drilling when the depression value that you
read on the vacuometer settled on the base is at least 0,8 bar.
- Use levelling screws to avoid unnecessary vibrations during drilling.
-
Warning : If during drilling the depression value decreases and becomes < 0,8 bar,
immediately stop working, turn off the motor, find and eliminate the reason of the
vacuum leakage.
.........................................................................................................…………….....................
- If the rubber vacuum gasket is fitted in the slot under the base, don't move it by dragging sideways :
you damage the gasket.
- Don't put the machine leaning it on the base, but place it horizontally or remove the gasket under the
base.

MIXED FIXING SYSTEM
- When the fastening by an anchor bolt or the securing with vacuum pump doesn't ensure a sufficient
steady fixing of the machine (either the diameter of the hole you have to drill is > 250 mm or you are
using very powered motors with a very low rotation speed), you have to use also props to shore
sufficiently the base and the column of the rig.
.................................................................................................................................................................................……………………..................
OVERDRILLING
- If something anomalous causes the looseness (loosening) of the rig, close rigidly the fixing system,
and be careful : the core bit must be aligned and true with relation to just drilled hole.
- If there are some defects in alignment or truing, the core bit can't go on because its shell strips.
If the feed is not allowed, move a little the axis of the hole. If it is not possible, don't go on drilling and
make another hole, with the same axis of the first one ("overdrilling"), its diameter being > 15-20 mm.

BLOCKS
- When the material to be drilled is not a part of a big construction, be sure that it is well anchored or
clamped firmly.

4 - HOW TO USE THE DIAMOND CORE DRILLING EQUIPMENT
...............................................................................................................................................................................................…………………….....
PRELIMINARY CHECK
- Warning : Before drilling a reinforced-concrete structure, be sure that you don't damage the
structure. Do as the planning chief tell you .
- Warning : Don't cause damages to gas or plumbing pipelines in the working area.
- Warning : When drilling into walls, floors or wherever "live" electrical wires may be
encountered, do not touch any metal parts of the machine.
Operate the machine only by the plastic handles to prevent shock if you drill into a "live" wire.
......................................................................................................................................................................................……………………..............
SIGNAL DRILLING AREA
- Before drilling walls or floors, be sure that the core, falling out of the hole, doesn't cause damages to
anything. However you have to delimit and sign the working area : place warning signals around it.
-
If the core, falling out of the hole, can cause damages to something or somebody, make the
right supporting framework to hold the core when you stop drilling.
................................................................................................................................................................................……………………...................
TYPES OF CORE BIT
- You have to utilize the correct type of core bit in function of your drilling material : ask us for the core
bit correct for your application.
-
If you use a core bit not suitable for your drilling material or a blunt core bit, you can cause : a
big overload of the motor, too long drilling time, severe wear of the diamond segments.
