2 - WATER CONNECTION
..............................................................................................................................................................................................……………………......
WATER
- For the right use of core bits you have to cool diamond segments during drilling and keep clean
drilled hole and drilling area.
You can do it using water or air.
- The water can flow in working area directly from the water mains or with a manual pump or a
submersible pump sucking it from buckets or other containers.
- If you use water, you have to check that water pressure and flow rate are
enough to cool the core bit and clean the hole.
- Diamond segments can be damaged if there is not enough water also for a short time.
- You can check if the water flow is right looking through the cutting water that goes out from the hole. If
it is fluid, flow rate is correct; if it is not fluid, but like a mud, you either have to check why the water
inflow is not correct and remove the impediment or boost water flow rate.
- If you have to enlarge a just drilled hole, you have necessarily to obstruct the hole for a correct
cooling water inflow.
- If you have to drill porous or crack materials or make a secant drill, eliminate the water escape
ways and boost at maximum level water flow rate to cool the core bit enough.

OVERHEAD-DRILLING
- When overhead-drilling, it's advisable that you utilize a pneumatic or an hydraulic motor or
even a IP55 THREE PHASE motor.
If you drill overhead a water collecting device must be always utilized.
- We suggest to utilize the water collecting device also when drilling into walls or floors.
- The water collecting device is available as accessory.
To fix the device to the stand follow the instructions supplied from the manufacturer.
- If you don't utilize the water collecting device, however you have to collect the water far from the
working area,

3 - HOW TO ASSEMBLY THE DIAMOND CORE DRILLING EQUIPMENT
...........................................................................................................................................................................................…………………….........
- The right fixing system is necessary to :
- safety in working,
- a good performance of your machine,
- good holes,
- long life of power units and core bits.
- The possible fixing systems are :
- FASTENING BY AN ANCHOR BOLT,
- CLAMPING BY PROPS,
- SECURING BY A VACUUM (VACUUM PUMP- not suggested fo big or long holes),
- MIXED FIXING SYSTEM.
Every time you drill, you have to decide the right fixing system
..................................................................................................................................................................................……………………................
FASTENING
- This fixing system is very effective but not very quick.
BY AN ANCHOR BOLT
You need an anchor bolt for each hole you make with the machine.
- Warning : The fastening with an anchor bolt is not suitable when the drilling material has not a
mechanical resistance enough to hold the anchor bolt (for example : perforated bricks).
- Proceed as follows :
- Mark the centre of the hole you want to drill with your machine.
- Then mark the position of the anchor bolt using the drill centre point indicator or following the
mesure suggested in the schedule at page 15.
- Make an hole and put into the hole the adequate anchor bolt - bolt shank's minimum diameter : 12
mm -.
Anchor bolts to fasten our rigs are available as accessories : ask us for them.
- Set the anchor bolt.
- Fasten the base of the rig and adjust the four levelling screws until the column is upright. Use a
spirit level to check it.

CLAMPING BY PROPS
- This fixing system is quick and cheap.
- Warning : The clamping by props is not recommended for diameters >250 mm.
- Proceed as follows :
- Mark the centre of the hole you want to drill with your machine.
- Then set the base of the rig.
- With the conventional adjustable props brace the base, as we show you in the enclosed scheme
(picture).
- The top of the column is provided with an adjusting screw. You can use it with a pipe to shore the
column vertically.
- Adjust the four levelling screws until the column is upright. Use a spirit level to check it.
-
Warning : During drilling you have to keep very closed all the adjusting systems of the
props. So you can avoid that, during drilling, the vibrations loosen them, damaging the
steadiness of the rig.

SECURING BY A VACUUM PLATE
- This fixing system is quick and cheap, but you need a bearing surface :
(VACUUM PUMP) -
smooth, so you can avoid air leaks,
- solid enough, so you can avoid that the external layer of the bearing surface breaks away (
not well fixed plastering or tiles).
-
If the surface is solid but with upward bumps or depressions, level it, smoothing the bumps or
plastering where you put the vacuum gasket.
-
