Faxing Problems

Faxes do not print.

Cause 1

Is the toner cartridge installed properly?

Remedy

Make sure the toner cartridge is installed properly. For more information, see
Chapter 7, “Routine Maintenance,” in the Reference Guide.

Cause 2

Is the sealing tape removed from the toner cartridge?

Remedy

Remove the sealing tape from the toner cartridge. (See Chapter 7, “Routine
Maintenance,” in the Reference Guide.)

Cause 3

Is any toner left in the toner cartridge?

Remedy 1 Replace the toner cartridge with a new one. For more information, see Chapter 7,

“Routine Maintenance,” in the Reference Guide.

Remedy 2 Select <KEEP PRINTING> in <CONT. PRINTING> in <PRINTER SETTINGS>

located in the <FAX SETTINGS> of the Menu. With this setting, the machine will
not store documents in memory even if the toner has run out. (See <4. CONT.
PRINTING> of “Menu Descriptions,” on p. 10-8.)

Cause 4

Is the correct paper loaded in the Paper Drawer?

Remedy 1 Make sure correct type and size of paper loaded in the Paper Drawer.

Remedy 2 Load the correct paper size or change <DEFAULT PAPERSIZE> in <PRINTER

SETTINGS> of the Menu. See Chapter 5, “Customizing Settings,” in the
Reference Guide.
