V . SELF DIAGNOSIS
A. Outline
The microprocessor on the machine's ADF controller is equipped with a function to check the condi-
tion of the machine. It runs a check as needed and, upon detection of an error, will communicate the fact
to the copier in the form of a code.
The nature of communication may be one of three types, which may be checked with reference to the
state of LED2 on the ADF controller PCB.
