4. Overview
The BaroVUE 10 uses a set of silicon pressure elements. Each element is individually calibrated
with the calibration corrections stored on the chip. An out-of calibration sensor card can be
returned to Campbell Scientific for recalibration. The sensor card is easily changed in the field,
reducing downtime and calibration costs.
The BaroVUE 10 is a fully digital sensor. Electronics within the BaroVUE 10 control the
measurement made by the sensor element, apply the calibration coefficients, average the
readings, and output the data using SDI-12 or RS-232 protocol to a data logger. The BaroVUE 10
also includes built-in outlier detection and quality metric with each measurement ensuring a
reliable and accurate pressure sample. This barometer is encased in a plastic housing designed to
withstand the operating temperature range. The case is fitted with an intake valve and a sealed
pressure chamber to allow for remote pressure sensing.
In most applications, the BaroVUE 10 idle current is insignificant compared to the data logger and
other power draws, allowing the BaroVUE 10 to be powered continuously. See
