8.2

Disassembling Work

8.2.1

De-energizing

Procedure:

Check the "minimum level during energizing" (see Appendix Technical Data). Refill
helium if necessary.

Remove the shorting plug out of the current lead turret with the shorting plug tool.

Insert the current lead (see chapter

”Inserting the Current Lead” on page 5-80

Connect the main power cable to the Bruker Power Supply.

Switch the Bruker Power Supply ON.

Check the settings (currents and inductivity) of the Bruker Power Supply.

Discharge the shims:
Set the shim current according to the values given in the Appendix, Technical Data.
Switch the shim heater switches ON and reduce the shim current slowly to 0A.
Switch the shim heater switches OFF.

Start the shim automatic (Z and Z

ON).

Set the final main coil current according to the energizing assignment.

10. Wait until the current is reached at the Bruker Power Supply.

11. Open the main heater switch.

12. Set the first current of the de-energizing assignment.

13. Wait until the current is reached.

14. Continue in the same way for the other values of the de-energizing assignment until

the magnet is completely discharged.

15. Close the main heater switch.

16. Wait 5 minutes.

=> Main heater switch is closed.

17. Set the sense voltage to 0 V.

18. Wait until 0 V is reached.

19. Remove the current lead.

20. Insert the shorting plug into the current lead turret.

21. Switch the Bruker Power Supply OFF.
