10. Check the availability of pure element spectra:
green: already normalized
blue: Element not yet normalized but pure element spectrum found in database
red: No pure element spectrum found in database for preset measurement conditions.
11. Link elements to respective pure element spectra: Either
automatically, only for the selected element line (a) or
automatically for all element lines (b) or
manually by assigning spectra using the spectrum working area on the right side (c).
At this point the method should be saved by clicking the
button, so it can be used as a non-
calibrated method. All quantification calculations will then be based on fundamental parameters.
This option is useful when there are no standards available which are sufficiently similar to the
sample system.
Note
A non-calibrated method gives reproducible results which in general are less
accurate than those obtained with calibrated methods.
If available, standard samples can be used to improve the accuracy of the results. In order to do
that, proceed to the
Calibration
tab.
