The approach to measurement setup, start, and evaluation of XSpect Pro is optimized for analyses
for the support of quality management and control, which is one of the main fields of application of
the M1 ORA/MISTRAL.
It also provides means for the evaluation of unknown samples, especially when the instrument is
equipped with a high resolution detector.
XData as second software tool is a management program and database for pure element and
standard samples and their spectra, setup of measuring methods, and their calibration. The
following functions are available:
 Management of standard samples and their spectra for different measurement conditions
 Handling of reference data
 Check of data integrity
 Management of methods and application data

Setup and edit of measurement methods.
A detailed description of the XData program can be found in chapter 6.
4.6.2 Program Installation
The installation and setup of the software programs XSpect Pro and XData is usually done in-
house after assembling at Bruker Nano GmbH. Thus, an instrument which is ready for operation is
delivered to the customer.
If the instrument is purchased without the computer the customer will be provided with an install file
and a factory backup of the instrument for installation.
The installation and update of the program can be done with the prepared Setup-program
Setup_XSpect.exe. This has to be started. The installation procedure runs then automatically and
all necessary files are installed.
The Setup.exe should be started as administrator. In order to do so, right click on the file and select
the “Run as Administrator” option.
