Importing and Exporting Graphics
You can import graphics into Drawing that were created with other
drawing applications or are stored in other file formats. You can also
export drawings you have created in Drawing for use in other
applications.
Graphics files are usually stored as bitmaps . Bitmaps consist of a series of
dots that together make up a graphic image. With Drawing, you can
import and export graphics in the following bitmap formats:

Bitmap (BMP) . This is the standard device independent bitmap"
format that many Windows, and OS/2 applications can create.

PC Paintbrush (PCX) This is a popular format for exchanging
bitmap graphics between applications.

Tag Image File Format (TIFF) . This is a standard format for
storing bitmap graphic images. TIFF files can be used by
applications on many different kinds of computers.

To import a graphics file:
1. Open the Drawing document into which you want to import a graphics
file.
2. Choose Import Graphic from the File menu. A dialog box appears:
3. Select the file you want to import and click on Import. Amessageappears
asking you to insert the Import/export libraries diskette.
4. Insert Diskette 2 and click on OK. A dialog box appears.
5. Click on the format of the file you want to import and click Import. The
Ensemble clip art is TIFF. The screen asks for the document diskette.
Drawing places the bitmap file
you imported into the center of
the window
. The image will not
respond like a graphic object, but
rather like a bitmap object. With
bitmap objects, the pixels enlarge
and shrink as you resize, and you
must edit them with the Bitmap
tools.
