Brewing tips
During mashing you will be heating a heterogeneous mixture of water and malt.
Therefore, it is necessary
to stir frequently for even heating.
The temperature sensor is placed at the bottom of the kettle,
we recommend checking the temperature with a thermometer at several places throughout the mash.
Do you want a rolling boil for a set period of time? If so, set the temperature at 102°C and then set the timer.
Do not use the ball valve to drain the mash, as it will become clogged. Only use the ball valve for uncharged
liquids (e.g. water, wort…).

Operating the Brewferm electric Pro kettle
Turn the thermostat [4] to set the desired
temperature (between 30 °C and 102 °C) and the
timer [5] to select the desired time (between
1 – 120 minutes), then press the thermostat [4] to
start the kettle. The heating indicator [7] will now
light up. Once the set temperature is reached, the
kettle will produce an audio signal (beep) and the
timer will start running (the hourglass symbol [11]
appears on the screen). At the end of the set time
the kettle will stop and will again generate an audio
signal. To stop this signal you have to press the
thermostat [4].
Continuous operation – keeping the kettle
at a set temperature
It is possible to select a temperature with the
thermostat [4] and keep the kettle at this
temperature for an indefinite time period. To achieve
this either turn the timer past 120 minutes until the
infinity sign [12] appears on the display or press the
timer knob [5]. Then simply press the thermostat
[4] to start the kettle.
Continuous heating – achieving a rolling boil
To achieve a rolling boil, the kettle must generate
heat continuously. This can be done by turning the
thermostat [4] past 102 °C until the display shows
the sign for continuous heating [13]. Continuous
heating is always for an indefinite time period, the
infinity sign [12] will also light up on the display.
To start the continuous heating press the thermostat
[4], press it once more to end this function.
Remark:
This kettle is equipped with boil-dry
protection, when the machine is in continuous
heating mode and the water runs out, this
protection will kick in. The boil-dry warning sign
[14] will appear on the display and the machine
will produce an audio signal (beep) and will stop
heating at once.
First use
Clean the kettle and lid thoroughly before using
it for the first time. Boil about 5 litres of water for
about 10 minutes. When using the new appliance
for the first time, it may give off a slight smell, this
does not give any cause for concern.
Cleaning and maintenance
• It is very important to clean the kettle after use.
The dry ingredients may stick to the metal.
• Rinse the machine and soak it with 5 – 10 litres
of water of 60 °C for 15 minutes or more. We
advise the use of PBW from Five Star or
Chemipro OXI. Follow the instructions on the
label of the cleaning product.
• Do not use any sharp metal utensil to remove
any residue. Use a soft cloth or soft scouring pad
to clean the inside of the kettle.
(Tip: Vinegar can be helpful.)
• Any wort residue marks on the boiler base
should be wiped off before next use.
• Do not splash any electronic parts of the machine.
