11.4.2 Patient posture requirements during measurement

Sit comfortable or lie down relaxedly.
2.
No crossing legs.
3.
Back and elbow should be supported.
4.
The center of NIBP cuff and the right atrium are at in the same level.
5.
Remind patients, no talking during measurement and try to relax.
NOTE
When have doubt about blood pressure measuring result, re-measure after the
patient sit-in about 5 minutes. If still have doubt, replace the blood pressure
measuring equipment and measure again.
The operator should be in the position where he/she can readily operate the
sphygmomanometer.
11.4.3 Start/stop measurement
Use the
[NIBP start/stop] key on the monitor panel or
[NIBP] smart hotkey on the
display to start / stop the blood pressure measurement.
11.4.4 Correcting measurement results
The position of limb blood pressure measurement should be in the same horizontal position of
the patient's heart. Otherwise, correct the measurement results with the following correction
method.
If the cuff is above the heart level position, increase 0.75mmHg (0.10kPa) per centimeter
of gap to the measured results.
If the cuff is below the heart level position, subtract 0.75mmHg (0.10kPa) per centimeter
of gap from the measured results.
If the patient is obese or clothes are too thick, subtract 5mmHg ~ 10mmHg (0.65kPa ~
1.3kPa) from the measured results.
