The SNMP shell commands
The V!CAS contains several preinstalled programs, ready for use from
the SNMP client shell. A short description of these programs and their
usage is as follows:
telnet
telnet
host [port]
The telnet program can be used to communicate with another
host. Telnet requires the host parameter (IP address or hostname)
and has an optional port parameter.
ping
ping
[
-c
‹count›] host [size]
The ping program can be used to test communication with
another host. Ping sends ICMP echo_request packets of length size
to host.
You can limit the number of packets to be sent by using the
-c
option; ‹count› sets the number of packets.
