The
BIELMEIER brewing system
consists of
a mash tun with a built-in heater, which is used
for mashing and wort boiling, and a lauter-/fer-
menting tun with a removable strainer insert and
cooler, which is used for lautering and fermenting .
All of these items are made of high-quality stain-
less steel . The set also includes a ladle, spoon,
digital thermometer, hydrometer and measuring
cylinder .
In order to ensure the maximum of satisfaction
with your new
BIELMEIER brewing system

please pay careful attention to the following
safety instructions .

These operating instructions contain impor-
tant information about the use and main-
tenance of your new beer brewing system.
Please read this information carefully before
using the system and keep this booklet in a
safe place for further reference. If properly
maintained, this appliance will provide years
of enjoyment.
IMPoRTAnT SAfETY
InSTRuCTIonS
Do not use the appliance if
– the electric power cable is damaged,
– the appliance is visibly damaged in any way,
– the appliance has fallen or been dropped,
– the appliance is wet or damp on the outside .
If there is visible damage to the mash tun or
the electric power cable, you should have
them inspected by a qualified technician or
by a
BIELMEIER
customer service agent .
Connect the mash tun only to alternating
current (AC) power sources which match
the parameters indicated on the mash tun’s
rating plate . Use only safety power sockets
(schuko sockets) .
Unwind the electric power cable completely .
Do not let the power cable hang down where
you could trip over it or it could become
tangled .
Always remove the power plug

from the
socket:
– if there is a malfunction during operation,
– before cleaning or maintenance,
– when you are finished using the mash tun .
The pots must be placed on a stable, level
surface free from obstructions .
Never place the mash tun or the electric
power cable on a hot surface or near open
flames, gas stoves, etc .
CAuTIon!
Set up your brewing pots so that you do not
need to move them during operation . Remem-
ber that you will need to ladle the mash from
the mash tun into the lauter-/fermenting tun .
Make sure that both are at a height where you
can access them comfortably and safely from
above . First fill the mash tun with water and
malt, as described in “
Mashing”
(
p. 23
) . Only
after the water and malt are in the mash tun
should you plug the electric power cable

into an earthed mains socket .
Move the pots only when they are empty
and cool!
When the pots are full, they are
very heavy, and moving them is dangerous!
Lift the pots by their handles only when they
are cool and completely empty!
If you move
the pots when they are hot or contain hot liquid,
there is a danger of burning or scalding .
never attempt to pour hot liquid out of the
pots by tipping them.
Hot liquid should be
removed from the pots or transferred between
them only using the ladle (mashing) or the tap

(wort boiling) .
If you attempt to tip the
pots when they contain hot liquid, there is
a danger of burning and scalding.

to a maximum level of
4 cm below the rim . Overflowing of liquid is
dangerous and can damage the appliance .
CAuTIon!
Steam escaping from the vessel presents a
scalding hazard!!
