4 AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATION
Two situations can occur after the analysis is completed:
SHOCK NOT ADVISABLE
The equipment detects a patient rhythm that does not require defibrillation and emits the following
message “
NO SHOCK ADVISED
”. The shock button will remain disabled since it is not
necessary to deliver the shock.
The equipment will then pause to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emit the
following message: “
START CPR
”. During this time, which can be configured, ECG signal
analysis is not performed and the screen displays a progress bar and a counter indicating the
time remaining to perform CPR. In addition, the metronome will sound to assist the application of
compression rates and ventilation on the patient at the appropriate frequency and ratio.

After the CPR time has elapsed, the equipment automatically starts a new analysis. The CPR time
can be interrupted at any time to start a new analysis by pressing the programmable button
.
If the CPR has been set to OFF in the configuration options, the pause for resuscitation is
suspended. In other words, neither the progress bar nor the counter is displayed and the following
message appears: “PRESS ANALYSIS TO START”. In this case, the programmable
button must be pressed to start a new analysis.
SHOCK ADVISABLE
The equipment detects a patient rhythm that requires defibrillation and emits the following message
“SHOCK ADVISED”. Once the equipment detects a patient rhythm that requires defibrillation, rhythm
analysis is stopped and the energy is charged. The REANIBEX 300 automatically charges the energy
at the first of the three levels established in the configuration. While the charge is taking place, the
display shows a progress bar and a sound is emitted that increases in pitch as the charge
progresses. The patient’s ECG signal is not analysed during the energy charge and while the
equipment is prepared to deliver the shock.

After the energy charge is completed, the following message is emitted “
DO NOT TOUCH
PATIENT
”.

detected that the patient presents a shockable rhythm and the energy has been charged, it is
