Housing

Material stainless steel 1.4301

Cover with screw thread metric 165 x 2mm, wrench size M32

4 conduits with NPT 3/4 inch for process connection. Unused con-
duits must be closed by a dummy plug which is suited for the

respective type of protection, see chapter "5.3 Dummy Plug" on
page 2–249.

Current output

The permissible impedance range is between 120 and 500Ohm. For
safe HART

®

communication you need at least 250Ohm.

The max. cable length of the

HART

®

loop depends on the con-

nected impedance as well as on the capacity and inductivity of the
cable.

The current output itself is monitored continuously and, in case of
malfunction, signals 24mA constantly via a redundant current

path. The digital HART

communication remains in effect even on

the redundant current path.

Multi-detector operation

Up to 8 detectors can be linked with each other to extend the mea-
suring range. Thus, the maximum sensitive detector length can be
extended up to 16m.

The detectors are linked via RS-485 connection. In addition to the
measurement signal, all detectors connected may send error mes-
sages via the RS-485 connection to the Main Unit.
