The following procedure is applied to all valves

springs.

Measure:

• the free length of the valves springs

If out of specification Replace the valve spring.

Valves springs free length

External spring

inlet:

38.5 mm (1.515 in)

drain:

36 mm (1.417 in)

Inside spring

inlet:

35 mm (1.377 in)

drain:

33 mm (1.299 in)

Measure:

• the force of the compressed valve spring

If out of specification Replace the valve spring.

Installed length

Spring inclination limit

Inlet valve spring

1.7 mm (0.06 in)

Drain valve spring

1.7 mm (0.06 in)

Force of the compressed

valve spring (installed)

External valve spring

186 N m (18.96 Kgf•m)

a 32.8 mm (1.29 in)

Measure:

• the inclination of the valves springs

If out of specification Replace the valve spring.
