The Bell 430 received its Canadian Type Approval Certificate [H-88] on February 23,
1996. The Bell 430 was also certificated by the FAA in accordance with provisions of 14
CFR Section 21.29 on April 11, 1996. Initial deliveries of the new Bell 430 began in
February 1996.
The Bell 430 is assembled at Bell Helicopter Textron Canada, Ltd. The manufacturing
facilities are situated in Mirabel, Quebec, 19 miles (30 kilometers) North of Montreal.
The plant is a short drive from Dorval International Airport. The 152-acre site in Mirabel
includes a 529,000 square foot facility that houses manufacturing, fabricating, processing,
assembly, engineering design, research and development, product support engineering,
marketing and administration.
The Bell 430 is certified under FAR Part 29, Category B requirements. Additionally,
the Bell 430 is approved under Canadian Airworthiness Manual Chapters 529, Sections
529.1301.1, 529.1557(c), 529.1518 (e), and 529.1093 (b) (1) (ii).
BASIS OF CERTIFICATION
INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION
A new Bell 430 is delivered with a Canadian Certificate of Airworthiness for Export,
which may be readily exchanged for a Certificate of Airworthiness in the destination
country.
