TAIL ROTOR BLADE

T h e   t a i l   r o t o r   b l a d e s   a r e  b o n d e d
assemblies consisting of shaped stainless
s t e e l   s p a r s,   w i t h   a n   a l u m i n u m
honeycomb core, covered by stainless
steel skin. Two spherical non-lubricated
bearings at the base of each blade are used
for blade retention  and pitch change. The
h i g h   e f f i c i e n c y   a i r f o i l   p e r m i t s   a   l o w
operating speed (1881 RPM) which keeps
noise to a minimum and reduces the erosion
effect of operations in a sandy environment.
