4.8 NAT Configuration
To configure the address translation function, click on
NAT
in the
Configuration
section of the
main menu. There is independent IPv4 and IPv6 NAT configuration since there is dual stack
IPv4 and IPv6 implemented in the router. The
NAT
item in the menu on the left will expand
to
IPv4
and
IPv6
options and you can click
IPv6
to enable and configure the IPv6 NAT – see
Figure below. The configuration fields have the same meaning in the
IPv4 NAT Configuration
and
IPv6 NAT Configuration
forms.

The router actually uses Port Address Translation (PAT), which is a method of mapping
a TCP/UDP port to another TCP/UDP port. The router modifies the information in the packet
header as the packets traverse a router. This configuration form allows you to specify up to 16
PAT rules.
