6.2.1 COMP
The instrument TELARIS ISO is able to compen-
sate test lead resistance. Proceed as follows:
Connect black test lead to „COM" socket and
blue test lead to „
Ω
" socket.
Short-circuit both connected test leads.
Press „COMP" key.
If the test lead resistance has been com-
pensated correctly, the display indicates
the symbol „COMP" (5) and the value 0.00
Ω
. Furthermore, the acoustic signal is
audible (also refer to chapter 7.0).
To exit compensation mode, press „COMP"
key again.
6.3 AC / DC Voltage Measurement
In order to obtain precise measurement
results, you should switch off all loads or
disconnect them from mains.
Connect red test lead to „U
AC/DC
" socket and
black test lead to „COM" socket.
Select measurement range „U
AC/DC
" by means
of measurement range selection switch (14).
Select AC or DC voltage by pressing key
„AC/DC" (13).
When switching on or changing the
„UAC/DC" measurement range, the „AC"
range is automatically selected.
Now connect test leads to UUT:
Read measurement result on display.
voltage protection for voltage measurement
When applying an external voltage of
max. 600V AC/DC to voltage sockets, the
instrument TELARIS ISO will not be
damaged for a duration of 10 seconds.
The instrument displays „>550V" (also
refer to chapter 7.0). After removal of
external voltage source, wait approxima-
tely 30 seconds to obtain correct measu-
rement results.
