6.1.1 LIMIT
Repeated pressing of „LIMIT" key (12) allows sel-
ection between 3 different threshold values for
insulation measurement, or to switch off thres-
hold exceeding protection.
The pre-set value appears in the display
bottom line. When falling below the pre-set
value (LIMIT) during measurement, a war-
ning signal is audible twice and the symbol
„Limit" is blinking twice in the display.
6.2 Low
Ω
Resistance Measurement
Prior to any resistance measurement, it has
to be ensured that no installation parts to be
tested are live. Failure to comply with this
warning may cause instrument damage.
Prior to resistance measurement, the test
lead resistance may be compensated (also
refer to chapter 6.2.1).
>
Connect blue test lead to „LOW
Ω
" socket
and black test lead to „COM" socket.
>
Set measurement range selection switch (14)
to „LOW
Ω
" measurement range.
Display indicates that instrument is ready
for operation.
Connect test leads to UUT.
Press „Start" key (15).
Display indicates current measurement
procedure.
Read the measurement value on display.
Also refer to chapter 7.0
Measurement results may be falsified by
impedances of additional operational cur-
rent circuits switched in parallel, and by
compensatins currents.
External voltage protection for LOW
Ω
measu-
rement range
When applying a foreign voltage of max.
600V to LOW Ohm measurement sockets
by mistake, the LOW Ohm measurement
will not be carried out. The instrument dis-
plays "Attention" + „UEXT" (also refer to
chapter 7.0). If an external voltage is
applied during resistance measurement or
after pressing the „Start" key, the internal
fuse is triggered. Also refer to display indi-
cations !!!
