Do not use MC6-Ex in any other way than as described in this User Manual. If this
equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection pro-
vided by it against hazards may be impaired.
Opening MC6-Ex voids safety and warranty, if it is valid.
Substitution of components may impair intrinsic safety.
Do not tap the touch screen with sharp or hard objects or
press hard on the display, especially with fingernails. In-
stead, tap lightly using your fingertips.

MC6-Ex's OUT section terminals are protected against over voltage and over current as
far as it has been possible without affecting the accuracy. Do not however connect sig-
nals that are above the measurement range of the selected Function.
Maximum output voltage from MC6-Ex's terminals is below 30 V. If you, however, con-
nect together voltages from the IN and OUT sections or if you connect external voltages
to MC6-Ex, the resulting voltage may be high enough to be hazardous.
Although there is a galvanic isolation between MC6-Ex's IN
and OUT sections, it is for functional purposes only. Do
not exceed 30 VDC / 30 VAC / 100 mA between terminals
and max. 24 VDC between Supply (HART, FF, PA) terminal
and any other terminal.
Functional insulation is not intended for protection against
transient overvoltages. Do not connect measuring termi-
nals to circuits where transient overvoltages are possible.
