With this feature, you may add instrument data to MC6-Ex from Instruments
using Digital Communication:
HART
®
instruments,
FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1
tm
instruments and
PROFIBUS PA
tm
Instruments
All you need is connect the instrument to MC6-Ex, select a communication pro-
tocol and receive data of the Instrument using Digital Communication to
MC6-Ex's Instrument Data. No error prone manual entry of Instrument Data.
MC6-Ex has pre-entered default mappings (which Digital Communication In-
strument field goes to which field in MC6-Ex) but you may customize the map-
ping for each instrument model you use.
Notes.
Utilizing this feature requires that your MC6-Ex has the Docu-
menting Calibrator option as well as the option to communicate
with the smart instrument type (Fieldbus option) you want to
add to MC6-Ex's instrument data.
You may easily populate CMX's Instrument database by first
mapping instrument data to MC6-Ex and then transferring the
instruments to CMX.

REPARATIONS
The data mapping can be done to a new instrument or to an existing instrument
in MC6-Ex. The Instrument's Output has to be one of the following:
Current (measurement),
HART
®
,
FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1

or
Profibus PA

.
Note.
With Current Measurement as the Instrument's Output, the
communication is available for the HART transmitter found in
address 0 only.
