6. Apply a pressure to the cell equal to the configured upper
range value.
7. Depress the span lock and turn and hold the adjustment
screw on the EZ CAL option in the span direction (indicated on
the EZ CAL option) for at least three seconds. The transmitter
automatically adjusts the output to 100 percent.
ALTERNATE CALIBRATION METHOD
This method requires no shop calibration fixture for the high
pressure side flange. This procedure may not result in a refer-
ence accuracy as stated in the specifications. This is due to
symmetry and linearity imperfections that this procedure
would not correct. As a worst case, reference accuracy
obtained using this procedure should not exceed plus or
minus one percent of the calibrated span.
Analog Mode Transmitters
1. Connect the transmitter in a calibration setup such as the
one shown in Figure
2. Orient the transmitter in a position that corresponds to the
orientation it is expected to have in service.
3. Through the low pressure (-) side, apply a pressure equal
to the desired input span of the transmitter. Span equals
upper range value minus lower range value.
4. Press the CALIBRATE key on the Type STT terminal and
adjust the output of the transmitter to 4.000,
±
0.032 mA by
following the procedures in the
5. Vent the low pressure (-) side to the atmosphere.
6. Use the up arrow and down arrow keys to set the output to
20.000,
±
0.032 mA.
7. Repeat Step 3 and see that the output is 4.000 mA and has
not shifted. If the output has shifted, repeat Steps 4 through 7.
8.
For Zero Based Calibrations
—
Vent the low pressure (-)
side to the atmosphere, press the CALIBRATE key and set the
output to 4.000,
±
0.032 mA.
9.
For Other Than Zero Based Calibrations
— Apply a
pressure to the low pressure (-) side equal to the desired span
minus the desired upper range value. Press the CALIBRATE
key and set the output to 4.000,
±
0.032 mA.
