PR22

Fan Replacement

Purpose/Scope

This procedure explains how to replace the multibus card cage
fan.

Parts

Tools

•

Bladed screwdriver.

Procedure

□

1. Cut and remove the cable ties that secure the fan power
cable.

□

2. Use the bladed screwdriver to remove the four long screws
around the fan.

□

3. Slide the fan out around the multibus card cage.

□

4. Disconnect the fan power cable.

□

5. Connect the fan power cable to the new fan, making sure
the red striped conductor is connected to the positive (+) termi-
nal of the fan.

□

6. Use the bladed screwdriver and four long screws to install
the new fan. Make sure when installing the new fan that the
arrow on the fan points in the direction of the air flow.
