3. USE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS
B9 Scan 500 is an electromechanical measuring instrument based on the structured light
principle, for laboratory and for professionals, dedicated to the scanning of
any type of objects
that fits safety inside the acquisition volume. The unit is not suitable or intended to acquire food or
small pets.
3.1. WORKING RULES
CAUTION
•
The unit cannot operate outdoors, it is suitable for installation and operation in commer-
cial and industrial laboratories, schools, universities, hospitals, etc.
The unit has been de-
signed for continuous operation.
•
Do not fix the models when the working plate is in the scanner. Always remove the working plate
from the scanner and then fix the models using the blu-tack adhesive or equivalent devices.
•
Do not remove\manipulate the models during working plate movements. Always wait it stops.
•
Cleaned, dry models only.
•
Reflective or shiny surfaces are difficult to acquire. Coating the surfaces with a thin opaque lacquer
just for measuring purposes is a common practice.
•
Transparent or semi-transparent surfaces raise difficulties too. Also in these cases, coating the sur-
faces is a common practice.
•
It is also hard to handle translucent materials, such as skin, marble, wax, plants, and human tissue,
coating the surfaces is the solution if possible.
•
Reflective cavities and concave objects are difficult to handle. Double reflections and inter-reflec-
tions can cause the stripe pattern to be overlaid with unwanted light, eliminating the chance for
proper detection. Coating or splitting the model when possible is he solution.
•
Do not use mattifying spray or coating the surfaces models directly inside the scanner.
•
Do not install additional software if not authorized by E.G.S. srl service agents or by personnel
adequately trained by E.G.S. srl.
