MAG
User Manual v2.0
• PULSE OUTPUT
» Pulse quantity
It allows the selection of the pulse volume.
For MAG converters battery version, during the maximum flow rate of the
process select a volume large enough so that the time interval between two
consecutive pulses is greater than 1 second in order to preserve the battery life.
On MAG mains powered version
Avoid pulse saturation, as this may lead to pulse accumulation which
should not be provided in real time considering the actual flow r
ate.
Cal
culation of th
e parameters (values must be reconsidered according to the
technical units of the converter).
[Vp = dm
3
(litres), Tp=seconds; Qmax = device maximum flow rate dm3/s]
Settable values for Tp are in a range from 0.001s to 2s.
1) Once the time Tp has been set, the minimum volume Vp to be set is calculated
as following
Vp>Qmax*2Tp
;
2) Once the volume Vp has been set, the maximum duration Tp to be set is
calculated Tp,
Tp< Vp/(2*Qmax)
.
If the calculated Tp value is lower than 0.001s (1ms), a higher value of Vp must
be chosen so that the result is always Tp>=0.001s.
On battery powered version
High pulse frequency will affect the battery life.
Calculation of the parameters (values must be reconsidered according to the
technical units of the converter).
Settable values for Tp are in the range from 0.001 s to 0.1s.
1) Once the time Tp has been set, the minimum volume Vp to be set is calculated as:
Vp>-Qmax*20Tp
;
Once the volume Vp has been set, the maximum duration Tp to be set is calculated as:
Tp< Vp / (20*Qmax)
.
If the calculated Tp value is lower than 0.001s (1ms), a higher value of Vp must
be chosen so that the result is always
Tp>=0.001s
.
» Pulse time ON
Select the ON time duration of the pulse on a range between 1 and 1999 ms.
With battery version select the pulse time ON no higher than 0.1 seconds
(100ms).
» Reverse flow rate
(off/on)
In case of negative flow, this function will enable/disable the pulses from the
pulse output.
» Active pulse output
Select to disable the frequency output and activate the pulse output (factory
condition).
• FREQUENCY OUTPUT
» Full scale freq.
Set the maximum frequency that corresponds to the full scale flow rate value.
Selectable range: 100 Hz … 10 kHz.
