Chapter 1
Overview
The Avid Expansion Chassis extends the number of NuBus slots in your Avid
system to support additional options that do not fit into the available slots of your
Macintosh. The chassis has 12 NuBus slots and provides cooling, air filtering, and
service access to ensure reliable operation in an industrial environment. The
Expansion Chassis includes:
•
An enclosure for up to 12 NuBus cards
•
A 20-inch shielded flat ribbon cable
•
An interface card that resides in a single NuBus slot in any Macintosh Quadra
650, Quadra 950, or Power Macintosh 8100
The Avid 3D Effects Option is a set of three processor boards that enhance and
extend the effects capabilities of the Avid software. The boards are housed in a
penthouse cover that you add to the Expansion Chassis and attach to the Advanced
JPEG card in the chassis. The 3D Effects Option components include:

A set of three effects boards
•
An updated effects module for the JPEG card
•
A SCSI cable
