4. Open the Control Panels folder from the Apple menu, then open the Monitors
control panel.
5. Reinitialize the card as follows:
•
If you have a Power Macintosh, set Monitor 1 to “thousands” of colors to
reinitialize the card.
•
If you have a Quadra 650/900/950, set Monitor 2 to “thousands” of colors
to reinitialize the card.
6. Click the Identify button and confirm that the monitor setup is correct:
•
If you have a Power Macintosh, the NuVista (Edit) monitor shows the
number 1 and the Macintosh (Bin) monitor shows the number 2.
•
If you have a Quadra 650/900/950, the Macintosh (Bin) monitor shows the
number 1 and the NuVista (Edit) monitor shows the number 2.
7. Close the Monitors control panel.
8. Open the Avid drive, then open the Utilities folder.
9. Double-click the Expansion View icon to run the application.
10. Choose Text Slot Information from the Expansion Chassis menu.
The Text Slot Info window shows the slot numbers, the locations of the
slot, and the name of the NuBus card in the slot (see Figure 31 on page 43).
Make sure that all of the cards that are installed in the Macintosh and the
Expansion Chassis appear in the Slot Info column.

If your system does not have all available option cards, the screen will be different
but should still correctly report the installed NuBus cards.
