Important:
The AP 8120 and AP 8120 with External Antenna access points are intended for indoor use
only. Do not install the device or operate it outdoors.
Important:
To reduce the possibility of connection interference caused by dust, clean the CAT-5
connector pins before inserting a cable into an AP.
The following table lists the pin signals for the 10/100/1000 Ethernet straight-through wiring
when configuring for the indoor access points.

Cable requirements for Outdoor access points
The following section applies to the AP 8120-O only.
Before connecting the AP 8120-O with an Ethernet UTP cable you must ensure that the cable
has been properly waterproofed for out door use. For instructions on how to waterproof the
Ethernet UTP cable, see
Waterproofing the Ethernet UTP cable on page 28.
Warning:
You must use a certified outdoor UTP cable or risk injury from electrical shock.
Note:
Avaya recommends using only a certified outdoor UTP cable such as the Cat5E.
The AP 8120-O access point has one RJ-45 port that provides a 10/100/1000BASE-TX
Ethernet connection that is used to indirectly connect the access point to an Avaya WC 8180
