Chapter 8: Configuring the AP 8120 series
This chapter describes the procedures to configure an AP 8120 series access point after mounting and
installation.
Configuring the AP 8120 series access points using WMS
Use this workflow to configure the AP 8120 series access points using the WMS (Wireless
Management System) . For a complete list of procedures to configure the AP 8120 series using
the WMS, see the
Avaya WLAN 8100 WC 8120 GUI Reference NN47251-108.
Before you begin
Ensure your AP 8120 model is properly installed and mounted as needed.
Procedure
1. Log into the WMS.
2. From the navigation tree in the left-hand panel, select Configuration , Policy ,
Network Profiles .
3. Click Edit to edit an existing profile or, if no suitable network profile exists on the
WLAN already, click Add to add a new network profile for the new AP 8120, AP
8120-E, or AP 8120-O. A default Network Profile is associated if none is
specified.
4. Create a new network profile by configuring the fields in the General, Security, and
QoS tabs.
5. Click Update .
6. Select Configuration , Policy , Radio Profiles .
7. Click Add .
The Access Radio Profile window opens showing the General tab.
8. Configure the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios for the AP 8120, AP 8120-E, or AP 8120-
O using the fields on the General, 802.11, Data Rates, Auto RF and QoS tabs.
9. Click Add .
10. Select Configuration , Policy , AP Profiles to create a new default AP Profile for
the AP 8120, AP 8120-E, or AP 8120-O.
11. Click Add .
