Changing the Status of Selected Data
When selecting raster, the program creates a temporary raster image where the
raster data, selected from the current image is moved. The temporary image is
given the
status of raster selection set.
This temporary image has the same size
and insertion point as the original one. The cropping boundary is defined on the
temporary image, which indicates the boundary of the data selected.
When new raster data is added, it is moved to the temporary image, and the
clipping boundary expands according to the new boundary of the data selected.
When some raster data is removed from the selection set, it is moved from the
temporary image to the original one. If you remove all data from the selection set,
then the temporary image, containing the raster selection, is removed too.
You can select raster data on different images. If a selection is made on different
images, then a temporary image that contains the data selected from the
corresponding image is created for each image. These images are combined into
an AutoCAD group. This raster selection arrangement allows manipulating the
selection set as an entire AutoCAD object.
A raster selection set is a group of AutoCAD objects, so you can select it clicking
the boundary of any temporary image included in the raster set. Using AutoCAD’s
standard edit commands, you can move or resize the selection set. When moving
or resizing the images, containing selected raster, they no longer have the status of
selection set and become regular raster images. Removing, saving or unloading the
original raster image also turns the selection set into a regular raster image.
To insert a modified selection set into raster images, use the special WiseImage
commands, described in the following sections of this chapter.
Merging Images
The merging operation adds raster data of one or several raster images to other
raster images, specified by you.
On merging images, the raster data of
source images
is transferred to
destination
images
; only the data of the source images partly placed under the destination
images
is transferred. The
source images
not completely placed above the
destination images
are ignored. The source images from which raster data is
moved to the destination images
are erased from the drawing. The source images
with raster data outside the boundary of the destination images are lost.
To perform the operation, first you should select the source images. They are
selected as AutoCAD objects. You can select a raster image of any type (color,
grayscale or monochrome) as a source image. Raster selection can also be used
as a source
image.
In the second step, you select the destination images. This selection is made from
the selection dialog box.
When selecting destination images, the program considers the types of previously
selected source images. You are allowed to insert the data of the source images
