This appendix covers the following topics:
Setting up a TCP/IP network
TCP/IP is the networking protocol used by the Internet, government agencies,
universities, businesses, and other organizations to manage the flow of data in
and out of their many interconnected networks.
To connect to a TCP/IP network, such as the Internet, you need to install TCP/IP
networking software on your computer, and your Pipeline needs to be set up to
route Internet Protocol (IP) packets. When you set up TCP/IP on your computer,
you need to designate the Pipeline as the default gateway.
The following sections explain how to install and configure TCP/IP, and show
you how to set up an Ethernet network with one or more computers, designating
the Pipeline as the gateway to the wide area network.
