11.2.3
Current Steps
The number of equidistant steps when sweeping from the minimum to the maximum current.
This is calculated as follows:
Number of steps = (Byte 9 x 256) + Byte 10.

Bias
This parameter sets the bias current. This value is limited to 1A and may be set with a
resolution of 4095 = 0.244mA/bit. The set value is calculated as follows:
Bias current = ((Byte 11 x 256) + Byte 12) x 1A / 4095

Number of cycles
This parameter sets the number of cycles to be repeated in a sequence. In pulse mode this is
the number of pulses. In sweep modes, this is the number of repetitions of each current during
the sweep.
The set value is calculated as follows:
No. of cycles = (Byte 13 x 256³) + (Byte 14 x 256²) + (Byte 15 x 256 ) + Byte 16

Cycling mode
This parameter sets the mode of operation as follows:
0: parallel sweep
1: serial sweep
2: pulse mode
11.2.7
Continuous Mode
If the continuous mode is not active, the system will stop operation after completion of one
sequence with the number of cycles entered in the field “Number of cycles”. If the continuous
mode is active, the unit will repeat the sequence an indefinite number of times until the
“Stop” button is clicked.
The mode can be selected as follows:
0: not continuous mode
1: continuous mode activated
11.2.8
Starting a sequence
The laser driver is started by using a command for the trigger selection. Three trigger
selections are possible.
@S – starts the driver immediately. It uses an internal trigger.
