Firmware Upgrade

This chapter provides information on BIOS and CPLD firmware upgrades.

The PCIE-7210-1 card has two firmware components that can be upgraded.



Skylake-H BIOS



CPLD

The BIOS and CPLD images can be upgraded using the Firmware Command line Utility (FCU)
provided with the OS image of Skylake-H CPU. The FCU utility is used to query the existing
version of firmware on BIOS/CPLD devices, verify the compatibility of the image to be
upgraded and also to upgrade the BIOS/CPLD firmware. The firmware images are packed into
the OS images and are available at

/opt/bladeservices/rom/7210-1

.

BIOS Upgrade



For querying the existing version of BIOS before upgrading, execute the following
command.



For verifying the operation to check whether the image to be upgraded is compatible,
execute the following command.
