The PEX9716 PCI Express switch supports the following features:

16 lanes with integrated on-chip SerDes

Low-power SerDes (less than 90 mW per Lane)

Device-Specific Relaxed Ordering

Port configuration
– Five (5) independent ports
– Choice of link width (quantity of lanes) per unique Link/Port -x2, x4, or x8
– Configurable with serial EEPROM, I2C, SMBus, and/or host software
– Designate any port as the Upstream Port
3.5 Power
A 12 V power supply is provided to the card through PCIe Gold Finger edge connector. A
voltage and current monitor circuit is provided on the 12 V bus to PCH. This can be used to
measure the power consumed by the card.
The edge connector provides 3.3 V supply to the CPLD.
3.6 Interfaces
This section provides the details of various interfaces used on the PCIE-7210-1 card to
interconnect various blocks. It also describes user interfaces available for external connectivity.
3.6.1 High Speed IO subsystem
The following are the list of high-speed I/O peripherals on the card:

PCIe
– x4 PCIe lanes are connected between standard PCIe card edge connector and
PEX9716 switch. Each lane operates at Gen 3 (8 GT/s).
– x4 PCIe lanes are connected between PEX9716 switch and Skylake-H processor. Each
lane operates at Gen 3 (8 GT/s).
