enclosure in place or
when lens (protective
glass) is damaged.

Do not stare directly
at lamp in operation.

Minimum distance to
flammable objects is
300 cm (3 m or 10 ft.)
from the front of the lens
or 50 cm (0.5 m or 20")
from any other part of
the lamphead.

Operation at dis-
tances closer than

from the front of the lens
or 50 cm (0.5 m or 20")
from any other part of
the lamphead may be
harmful to eyes and
skin.

Never attempt to
strike without a lamp in
place.

Risk of damage due
to overheating, there-
fore,

never operate
lamphead with 4-leaf
barndoor fully closed,

never operate
lamphead with shutter
fully closed,

never illuminate other
lampheads directly,
-
always avoid direct
illumination by other
lampheads,
-
never cover ventilation
slots (neither on
lamphead nor on bal-
last).

Check to ensure that
the nominal power of
the lamp inserted is
identical with the speci-
fications written on the
lamphouse and on the
ballast.
¡
Always replace
damaged or thermally
deformed lamps imme-
diately.
¡
Never allow cables
to touch the (hot) surface
of the lamphead.
¡
Never pull on any
cables. Always pull the
plug.
¡
Only use cables that
meet the safety stan-
dards of the country, the
ballast is used within.
The wire cross section of
the cable must be suit-
able for the current
drawn by the ballast
(for details see table on
page 73).

Use suitable ARRI
ballasts only. See table
on page 69 for refer-
