Reflectance label
Prepare the check strips. The check strip bottle has
a reflectance label on it, which must be used when
evaluating reflectance after the check measurement.
Keep this labeled bottle in an easily accessible
place.
4
Start the check measurement
Place a white check strip on the test strip tray.
REFERENCE:
Place the check strip on the test strip tray with the black mark facing up.
NOTE:
Place a test strip in the detection
area of the test strip detection
window as shown in the right figure.
If the system does not detect the test
strip in the auto start mode, remove
and replace it in the center of the test
strip detection widow. At this time,
the test strip must cross both of the
white rails in the detection area. If the
test strip is not placed in the correct
position, it may not be transported
properly, leading to a strip jam or
inaccurate measurement result.

IMPORTANT:
Different procedures at this stage are required, depending on the
setting of the “operational mode when turning ON” parameter. (See
“Operational mode” on page 2-3.)
The standard setting is “Auto start” mode. To change the operational
mode when turning ON, see “3-7-8. No.005: Operational mode when
turning ON” on page 3-8.
● When using the “Cycle start” mode, press to
start the check measurement of the first strip.
● In the “Auto start” mode, the system automatically

3. Place white check strip on test strip tray and perform measurement.
4. Place gray check strip on test strip tray and perform measurement.
5. Remove check strips from waste box and return to check strip bottle.
6. Evaluate results
• Compare the refl ectance values on the test result printout to the ranges on the refl ectance label on the check strip bottle.
• If any of the measurement results are outside of the specfi ed ranges, repeat check measurement using the other set of
check strips.
• If any of the measurement results are still outside the ranges, contact ARKRAY Technical Support at 1.855.646.3108.
