SP7 - Scale Installation on a Non-Scale Unit

Set the correct gravity code for the location (see
“SP2 - Gravity Code Change” section). Be sure
to apply the appropriate gravity label. In some
countries, special gravity zone labels may be
required (see page 13).
Perform a scale verification (see “SP4- Scale
Calibration”). If the calibration is within the
expected tolerances, enter the counter menu on
the handset (see “SP1 - Verification of the
Counter” section) and note the calibration
counter value. Apply a new calibration label on
the scale marking label with the corresponding
value.
If the calibration is beyond the tolerance range,
perform a new calibration (see “SP4 - Scale
Calibration”).
Since this is the first time this unit will be
verified with a scale, it is considered as a new
unit and must pass through a complete EC-
verification by an authorized notified body. This
certifies that the load cell was installed correctly
and complies with the previous type approval
issue for the Maxi Move scale.
If the unit passes the EC-verification, the
notified body will emit a “certificate of
conformity.” This document must remain in
Arjo’s possession.
The CE declaration and the metrological log
book must be left with the customer.
Following the EC-verification by the notified
body, the product can be put into service.
Non-Verified Scale (Outside the
European Community)
Follow the instructions in the
Maxi Move
Maintenance and Repair Manual 001.25075.EN
under chapter 8 “Jib, Scale and T-bar”.
Perform the scale verification (see SP4). If the
calibration is beyond the expected tolerances,
perform a new calibration (see SP4).

slightly different from what is displayed in

form is included with the upgrade kit.
Some notified bodies prefer using their
own forms.
