3.3 Generator Test
The Generator function is used to generate traffic and monitor an
Ethernet connection. It works in conjunction with Interface Setup.
The framing is set at the Interface Setup screen; the Generator Test
setup is used to define the line load and frame size profile.

Up to eight Generator tests can be added to the Test Automator. Each
test has seperate setup parameters. To setup a Generator test, press the
icon at the Test Automator screen. See section 3.2.4 for further
information about the Test Automator function.
The Generator test setup screen has four panes:
• Mode/Duration
• Generator
• Destination
• Payload
The Mode/Duration pane shown in Figure 3.3.1-1 sets the port-specific
traffic duration and generator modes.
