7 MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Putting the pump back into service
Scrapping of the electric pump
For scrapping, all the components must be separated
based on their chemical properties and disposed of in
compliance with the current regulations.
With reference to the WEEE directive (Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment), the electric motor must be
disposed of as urban waste and be brought to a special
separate waste collection centre since it is potentially
harmful to the environment and human health.
Prolonged inactivity of the electric pump
If the pump remains inactive for a long period of time,
proceed as described.
1) Run the electric pump with clean water for a few
minutes.
2) Run the electric pump without water for 10 seconds
with the end of the delivery line open in order to
prevent scaling.
3) Carefully clean the electric pump.
Perform the operations described before putting the
electric pump back into service after a prolonged period
of inactivity.
1) Check and top up the oil level (if necessary).
2) Check the tightness of the main mounting bolts.
3) Check that the terminal boxes and cable guides are
sealed to prevent external agents from entering.
4) Check that all the cable clips and terminals are
securely tightened.
NOTICE
Do not use gasoline or flammable solvents as
detergents. Instead, always use non-flammable
and non-toxic commercially available detergents
authorised by current legislation.
Do not spray the electric motor with a jet of water.
Protect the pump from weather.
Sanctions for the illegal disposal of waste electrical and
electronic equipment (WEEE) will be applied based on
the current laws where the infringement occurred.
Cleaning the electric motor fan cover and blades
With the motor stopped, clean the air passages of the
electric motor to ensure good ventilation. The electric motor must be cleaned more frequently if it
is used in a dusty environment.
