THE CELL WIZARDS
The Cell Wizard allows the user to define the range of values for each parameter controllable in their audio flow. For
example the cell Wizard for a filter will allow the user to specify the range of cut off frequencies and gains for that
specific filter. Each cell type in SigmaStudio has a wizard associated with it in the Application Layer Software. The
GUI will recognise the cell type, and it will run the wizard that matches this cell type.
The wizards allow the user to create new registers and to edit previously defined ones. They also auto-generate the
information that is needed to generate the HTML documentation and the standard C library. Field size is
automatically managed by the GUI, if the cell control size exceeds the number of unassigned bits, the GUI will
report an error message. Wizards have some basic information value boxes:
Cell name:
Name of the SigmaStudio cell selected.
Register name:
Name of the register, given by the user.
Bits:
Number of bits needed by the field, this value will depend on the configuration of the cell control.
Every Wizard will set a default value once a register is created. This default value is selected by the user, except in
the
Import Code
blocks.
Note:
It is absolutely essential that the default value for a certain cell in the SigmaStudio Audio flow should match
the default value set by the user in the Application Layer software. This will ensure consistency in the users design.
Volume / Gain Wizard
This wizard controls the
Volume
and
Gain
cells created in SigmaStudio. It supports both single and multiple inputs
(SigmaStudio blocks can control single or multiple inputs within the same block). The control will operate over all
the volume parameters present in the cell.

Note:
When selecting the volume or gain block in SigmaStudio, choose the shared volume control. This uses a
single parameter for the volume control. This is more efficient and easier to control using the Application Layer. The
other volume controls are not supported.
