SPOT Actuator
Network
Mode The network mode can be set to either Static IP or DHCP.
If Static IP is set, the Actuator attempts to connect using the
configurable IP address set in the box below.
If DHCP is set, the Actuator requests an IP address from the
network. If no IP address is provided by the network within 30 s,
the Actuator attempts to connect with its default IP address of
10.1.10.60. If 10.1.10.60 is already in use on the network, it will
attempt to connect with other variants of the last number.
IP User-configurable IP address for the actuator. In order for you to
be able to control the actuator from your PC, the PC must have
a similar address to that of the actuator e.g. 10.1.10.62 (for an
Actuator IP address of 10.1.10.60).
Subnet User-configurable Subnet Mask.
Gateway User-configurable Gateway.
MAC Read-only MAC address of the actuator
If you change any Network settings, the actuator must be switched off and
on again in order for the settings to be implemented.
If the IP address is set incorrectly, such that you can no longer connect
to the Actuator over Ethernet, factory settings can be restored using the
Remote as explained in Section 4.4.
Site Setup
Units Select either °C or °F for temperature display. Note that this must
be set to the same as that in the SPOT thermometer. When the
units are changed, the actuator will automatically recalculate the
4 to 20mA and display scale temperature settings.
Remote Left/Right control setting for the handset. Toggles which direction
is classed as ‘Left to Right’ in the context of your application e.g.
if an actuator is mounted on a beam above an extruder, the ‘Left
to Right’ direction will depend upon which side of the beam it is
mounted in relation to the direction of travel of the extrusion.
Speed When the actuator is under manual control, use the slider to
adjust the speed of movement between approximately 1 and 20
degrees per second.
Name A user-definable name for the Actuator location or application
(Maximum 8 characters).
Language Select the required language for the actuator Webserver software
screens.
