4.3.7 Traffic
You can modify the following settings:
Button
Function
Enable or disable the Traffic reception that can receive real-time traffic
information. The rest of the buttons below are all related to the Traffic
function and are available only if the receiver is enabled.
Tap it if you want to use online traffic information to avoid road blocks or
unexpected traffic jams.
If you want to see traffic events (for example closures, accidents, lane
restrictions) on the map, you can choose to show the events with a
different colour or to display an icon too. This feature can also be
disabled.
Receive information about normal traffic as well, not just special
conditions or events.
Enable or disable historical traffic data and traffic patterns. This locally
stored information can be very useful in normal circumstances but for
example on public holidays it may be better to turn it off in order not to
take account of normal weekday traffic jams.
Set the minimum amount of time that you think is worth saving at the
cost of making a detour.
For example, in the figure below, the orange route shows a traffic event
that causes a 30-minute delay. The blue route is a detour that is 15
minutes longer than the original route (not counting the traffic jam). If
you set the Offer detour feature to 10 minutes, Alpine Navigation
System recalculates the route because it saves 15 minutes, which is
more than the 10 minutes you set. If you set it to 20 minutes, the
original route is kept because the detour would save you only 15
minutes.
Calculations are based on information received about traffic events.
Enable or disable the manual confirmation of every recalculation due to
traffic events.
