Chapter 5 – Basic Use Case: Streams to SDI
Decoding
Creating a Pipeline to Decode Incoming JPEG 2000
to Uncompressed SDI
This chapter guides you through the basic steps for quickly setting up a stream
that decodes JPEG 2000 into uncompressed SDI. The steps below use default
settings. More detailed information is included in
"Chapter 7 BRIDGE LIVE Features
and Interface Deep Dive" on page 72
Identifying Your Decoding Requirements
As you go through the steps in this chapter, you will make choices regarding
transport streams, protocols, and codecs to meet your decoding requirements.
These choices dynamically impact which specific sets of configuration options
become available as you go through the process of building a pipeline.
Before you begin, consider which of the following components match your
requirements:
Transport Streams
Protocols
Codecs
MPEG-TS
RTMP/S* (output only)
NDI
MPEG-TS PCR only
RTP/UDP
UDP
SRT
HLS
H.262
H.264
H.265
JPEG 2000**
NDI
*RTMP/S works only with H.264.
**The JPEG 2000 I/O is available through an optional license that can be
purchased and downloaded for installation.
