How to Characterize Passive Devices

This section describes characterization of a quadrature hybrid passive device as shown.

1. Install the system hardware and software, if needed. See

“How to Set Up the Multiport

Test System Hardware” on page 18

and

“How to Install and Start the Balanced

Measurement Software” on page 39

2. Determine what network analyzer power, frequencies, and data points will be needed for

characterization of the DUT.

3. Calibrate the system using these settings. See

“How to Calibrate” on page 40

4. Connect the DUT.

5. Click the

Measure

button to measure the DUT.
