When the background surface check is turned on, the ArrayMasStor
automatically performs surface checks. The default setting is on,
with checks starting at 00:00 each Sunday. The execution time is 60
minutes and, for proper operation, the ArrayMasStor’s internal clock
must be set to the correct local time.
The check interval (weekly each Sunday) is displayed. The
ArrayMasStor supports three user-selectable intervals: once, twice
and three times per week.
The start time (00:00) and execution time (60 minutes) are displayed.

DPO/FUA Bit
The DPO/FUA (disable page out/force unit access) is used only
when the host computer’s operating system issues the FUA
command for every read/write command. Use of this command
7
degrades the ArrayMasStor’s performance. To prevent this from
happening, the DPO/FUA bit should be turned off.
IMPORTANT !
Only turn on the DPO/FUA bit if your operating system uses
the force unit accesses command with its read and writes
operations. For additional information, see your operating
system manual.
7
When a FUA read/write command is sent to the ArrayMasStor, the cache is bypassed and the read
and write operations are sent directly to the drives. This results in impaired performance.
