Data Initialization
When the RAID level or spare drive settings are changed, data initialization is necessary to ensure the
consistency of the parity or mirror data. After changing the RAID level or spare drive settings, the
ArrayMasStor should be turned off. After restarting the ArrayMasStor, data initialization starts
automatically. Another method to start data initialization is to select the INITIALIZE option from the
operation panel after the ArrayMasStor fails. The time required for data initialization depends on the
configuration and storage capacity of the ArrayMasStor.
During the data initialization, the progress (in percent) is displayed.
When initialization is in progress, the ArrayMasStor will not accept
SCSI commands from the host computer.
When data initialization is complete, the operation panel returns to
the main menu and the ArrayMasStor accepts SCSI commands from
the host computer.

computer.
