Working with Adobe After Effects

In the Properties palette, click the Video field, and then press Delete.

The Menu Editor window turns black, and the Video field contains the word “nothing.”

Drag the Video pick whip from the Properties palette to the Zephyr_background.avi 

file in the Project window.

Choose File > Render Motion Menus.

Though you updated the After Effects file, Adobe Encore DVD didn’t recognize the 
changes. Therefore, the Render Motion Menus command was dimmed. To render motion 
menus again, so that the file appears correctly in the preview, you deleted the Video link 
and re-created it.

Choose File > Preview.

Move the mouse over the buttons to see the subpictures appear.

Close the Project Preview window.

Save the project.

Creating links to assets

Now you’ll link the buttons in the menu to timelines. First, import the videos and create 
the timelines.

Choose File > Import as Asset, and import the 

Kite.avi

 and 

Sail.avi

 files.

Select the AVI files in the Project window, and choose Timeline > New Timeline.

Click the Menus tab in the Project window, and select the Zephyr menu.
